Warren Street is a short street, a little over 100 feet long, leading off Franklin Street near its south end in the Colson Heights neighborhood of North Billerica. The name goes back to "Colson Heights, North Billerica Mass., owned by the Heirs of George F. Colson," the plan of the Colson farm by the landscape designer Warren H. Manning, with Fred W. Stowers, surveyor, recorded on July 13, 1914 (Plan Book 31, Plan 88), on which Warren Street was the westernmost of six parallel streets, with Lawrence, Franklin, Brown, Hood and Holt Streets, running south from Lowell Street toward Elm Street. It was never built as drawn in 1914, and it does not appear in the town directories. The plan gives no reason for the name, and no record found explains it.

The present street comes from the "Definitive Subdivision Plan of Yorkshire Estates," drawn by the K. J. Miller Company of Wilmington for the Mac-Bro Construction Corp. of Groton, dated June 1, 1970 and recorded on May 4, 1971 (Plan Book 112, Plan 57), which laid out a new, curving Franklin Street and kept a short stub of Warren Street leading from it to the edge of the tract. The one house with a Warren Street address dates from 1979. No vote accepting Warren Street as a public way has been found; it was not among the streets accepted with Franklin Street on April 24, 1980. It was repaved or sealed with the neighboring streets in fiscal 2023.
